Laury Hopkins, BFA

I am a graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art. I have been painting since I was 9 years old, originally in oils. I switched to acrylic in 1997. I learned to use an airbrush last year. My work is eclectic -  I get bored easily. I am still waiting for all my creative ideas to congeal into something resembling a single direction. Probably not happening. I also sew quilts, and am experimenting with couching (sewing yarns onto fabrics). I have taught many kinds of art and drama to kids; my favorite class taught kids to make taxidermy forms into dragons (see the dwagon in the Fortwess - Toys). I have to thank my dedicated husband, Rick, for many of the photographs that make my work possible and all that allow me to display my work so well. If you would like to, contact me at lauryh@optonline.net. Thanks for looking!
